Using Google Site Search

Government Documents including the military's are often free online, and part of public domain.  This includes documents, working papers, guides and texts, etc.

Google allows you to search individual domains using the command:  "site:"

Examples:

military biological  weapons site:.mil

This asks Google to search "military biological weapons" at .mil, the Pentagon's domain.

military biological  weapons site:.gov

This asks Google to search "military biological weapons" at .gov, the official government domain.

military biological  weapons site:.dod.gov

This asks Google to search "military biological weapons" at DoD, the department of Defense.

Gov Materials Online

Government published materials, including military, are online for the most part.

In 1995, the federal government mandated that all departments publish in this manner since most of the documents are not bound by copyright.  The tabs in this guide will focus on the various ways online military materials are available to you.

Professionally published, and copyright-bound materials can be found by using the library's resources recommended in the tabs above.
