Where are you located?

We are in Waterfield Library on the main floor. We are located on the south side of the Reference Room across from the Writing Center.

What are your hours?

Our hours are 

Sunday  6:00pm - 7:00pm

Monday  12:00pm - 6:00pm

Tuesday  2:00pm - 6:00pm

Wednesday  9:00am - 4:00pm

Thursday  2:00pm - 7:00pm

How do I sign up for an appointment?

There are four ways to sign up for an appointment.  

  • You can go to the home page of our Library Guide and sign up on our webpage. Click on the book appointment icon and follow the steps to confirm  your appointment.
  • You can call us during open hours at 270-809-3458.  
  • You can email us at msu.comcenter@murraystate.edu
  • You are welcome to drop by the Center schedule an appointment with one of our consultants! 

How long is an appointment?

We schedule appointments for 45 minute time slots starting on the hour.  We ask that you only schedule one appointment per day.  If you need further assistance, and a consultant is available, you may extend your appointment time. 

Do you offer walk-in appointments?

It's not recommended. If our consultants are busy with another appointment, you will have to schedule an appointment or wait until a consultant is available. We recommend that as soon as you know you have a presentation, schedule an appointment with one of our consultants so you will have sufficient time to work on your presentation.   

What do I need to bring to the appointment?

Please bring a copy of the assignment, any notes or outline that you have made. If you have Power Point slides, bring those also.

Do you work with group presentations?

Yes, we offer assistance with group projects. 

I am working in a group, can I come alone?  

We encourage at least two members of the group to attend the appointment. However,  it is very important that all the group members attend to have the most effective session with our consultants. 

Can I make more than one appointment?

You can make two appointments per week. If you need further assistance, you can walk-in and work with a consultant when one becomes available.

Can I video my presentation?

Yes. You may digitally record your video. You may save it to your thumb-drive, upload it to your Gmail account, or your YouTube account. We do not save recorded presentations.

What if I need to change my appointment?

We understand that schedules change. If you must break your appointment, please notify the Center as soon as possible so that other students may schedule an appointment. If you make your appointment online, you can cancel your appointment online also.

If possible, please let us know 24 hours in advance.  If you are running late, please call the Center at 270-809-3458.  

How long will you hold my appointment?

We will wait for 10 minutes before allowing another student to have your appointment.
