ABOUT THE RERC
For more than 50 years, NASA has pioneered in the fields of science, engineering, mathematics and technology and has shared these discoveries with educators throughout the nation. The NASA Regional Educator Resource Center at Murray State University was established in November, 1988.
Following the Challenger Tragedy in January 1986, NASA expanded the educational outreach of the Teacher in Space Program by establishing the Regional Educator Resource Centers. Each of the nine NASA Centers around the nation sponsors centers in the surrounding region. NASA Langley is responsible for Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, North and South Carolina.
