Biographical / Historical Information: William O. Wear was a druggist from Murray, Kentucky and editor of the Calloway News from 1875 until 1882. He was born at Murray on January 21, 1847 and was educated at local public schools. He entered the family drug business in 1867. In 1882, he moved to Fulton, Kentucky where he owned and operated a drug store.
Scope and Content: Collection consists of a scrapbook kept by W. O. Wear of Murray and Fulton, Kentucky from 1892 to 1902. The contents of the scrapbook focus on regional politics and local politicians during the latter part of the 19th Century. Included with the scrapbook were newspaper clippings related to the Lube Martin murder trial and the H. Boyce Taylor disloyalty case of 1919.
